Ed counsels private, nonprofit and public employers regarding all aspects of qualified and nonqualified retirement plan and health and welfare plan design, implementation and compliance. Ed specializes in qualified defined contribution and defined benefit plan design, implementation, administration and compliance. He also designs and drafts nonqualified retirement plans, including top-hat supplemental executive retirement plans and Section 457(f) plans. Ed's experience in the health and welfare arena includes designing, drafting and implementing cafeteria plans and advising clients regarding HIPAA and COBRA compliance.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ed designed, drafted and administered qualified retirement plans and Section 403(b) plans as an employee benefits consultant and a qualified pension plan administrator for a major mutual fund company, a bank and an insurance company.
