Hanson Bridgett Joins Amicus Brief in Support of Perkins Coie

At Hanson Bridgett, our commitment to justice, fairness, and the rule of law is unwavering. We are standing firm. We have joined the amicus brief in support of Perkins Coie being filed today. Read our statement from Managing Partner Kristina Lawson:

For more than 65 years, we’ve had the honor of representing individuals, businesses, and public entities across California and beyond — through prosperous times and moments of profound challenge. At every step, our work has been grounded in the values that define us: integrity, respect, collaboration, and service to the public good. We also believe in the strength of our democracy and the importance of respecting differing viewpoints. We proudly serve both public and private clients across sectors and industries, regardless of any political affiliation or perspective. We do this with the highest level of professionalism and sound legal judgment.

The independence of the legal profession and attorneys’ ability to advocate freely— without fear of retaliation — are bedrock principles of our democracy. We cannot remain silent as these principles are challenged by recent executive orders issued by the current administration. We are standing firm for the rule of law and are proud to have joined the amicus brief in support of Perkins Coie, along with several hundred other firms that understand the importance of taking action right now.

We do not take this stance lightly, but we take it with conviction. Because silence in the face of threats and injustice is not an option, and the rule of law cannot bend to the whims of politics. At Hanson Bridgett, we will continue to defend the principles that make our democracy strong and our profession meaningful.
