Hanson Bridgett Re-Elects Managing Partner Kristina Lawson

February 5, 2024 (San Francisco, CA) - Hanson Bridgett LLP is delighted to announce that Kristina Lawson has been re-elected as Managing Partner and will serve a second three-year term. The election took place at the firm’s Annual Partner Meeting in San Francisco on Friday, January 26.

Elected for the first time in 2020, Lawson is the firm's first female leader and has helped usher in a new era of growth, innovation, and overall success. Her re-election is a clear validation of the forward-thinking values and inclusive strategies that have helped the firm evolve and succeed.

"It's a privilege and a profound honor to lead Hanson Bridgett, and I'm deeply appreciative of the firm's trust and confidence," said Lawson. "As much as we've achieved together, I'm most excited for what's to come. I see the positive impact we're making and the unparalleled service we're delivering to our clients," added Lawson. "We're going to continue advancing and elevating the industry, leaning-in to our inclusive values, and lifting up the clients and communities we serve."

In recent years, the firm achieved year over year growth, attributing the success to its diverse portfolio of practices, dedication to superior client service, its unique firm culture, and an investment in its people and collaboration.

Under Lawson's leadership, Hanson Bridgett has:

  • Added 32 attorneys, a 17 percent net increase in attorney headcount
  • Opened a new office in Costa Mesa
  • Increased annual revenues from $122 million to $145 million
  • Diversified the firm’s Management Committee by adding more women, persons of color, and members of the LGBTQ+ community

Known in the legal industry and beyond as a progressive and collaborative leader, Lawson was named to the San Francisco Business Times’ 2023 and 2024 Power 100 list of the Bay Area's most influential business leaders. Over the course of her career, she has been deeply committed to public service, serving as Mayor of the City of Walnut Creek and as a Governor Brown and Governor Newsom appointee to the Medical Board of California.

Lawson is currently Chair of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Bay Area Council. Prior to her election as Managing Partner, she served as the leader of Hanson Bridgett’s Real Estate + Environment Section.
